A story is told of a man and a woman who lived in the Doonings, Carndonagh.

A story is told of a man and a woman who lived in the Doonings, Carndonagh. They had a farm but it was very small. There was a fort in one of their fields. This man ploughed the "fort," like the rest of the field, and then he planted potatoes in it.
When the season came to dig the potatoes the man had no potatoes. So he lived in poverty till he died about fifty years ago.
