    My pencil is short, and my paper is less.
    But these few verses to you I'll confess.
    I' ll sing of our country, and of its brave men,
    And of the new hall that's started in the Glen.
    Its up in Glentogher, a place you do know,
    If you want a nights sport, its there you must go.
    The girls are all jolly, and hearty and king,
    The bet of them, not in this land you could find.
    Its down in Carndonagh there lives Father Reid
    And for his new Church some money does need.
    So to a squad of fellows, one night he did say
    You must run a dance in the school every
