- Many, many years ago, it is told, a giant lived in the townland of Crohan which adjoins that of Knocktemple. He and his mother lived in a house at the foot of Crohan rocks. The giant was an enormous size. While seated at the rocks he could wash his hands in a stream which was about a hundred yards away. The name of this stream is "An Fúarán Fionn" and it is situated in a field of Mr. Terence Conaty's.
The Crohan giant had the reputation of being a great fighter. Hearing this another giant came to Crohan and challenged him to fight. On the arrival of the stranger the mother of the Crohan giant baked a cake for him. Being a very clever woman she placed the griddle inside the cake and baked it in it.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
