Ar an leathanach seo

  1. There are three forges in this parish. The smiths are Mr. Lynch of Lurganboy, Mr. Flanagan of Ryefield and Mr. Lynch of Cormaddyduff. That in Lurganboy is situated beside a crossroads. The one on Ryefields is situated in a lane near a bog and the Cormaddyduff forge is situated beside the roadside within a quarter of a mile of the crossroads.
    The roofs of two are made of corrugated iron and others are thatched. The door is very wide and high in each case. The bellows are also large and are used for blowing the fire. There is only one fireplace. The anvil is in the centre of the forge. The implements used are the sledge hammer, other hammers the auger and the pincers. The smiths shoe horses and asses. They made and mend ploughs and harrows and other farm implements. The shoeing of wheels is done in the open air, and
