- There is an old rhyme dealing with the days of the week. This is it:
Monday for wealth.
Tuesday for health,
And Wednesday the best day of all.
Thursday for losses
Friday for crosses -
And Saturday no day at all.
Some people believe that if you met a woman dressed in red on a Monday morning you would have bad luck. It is also said that if you threw out the ashes on a Monday morning you would throw out the luck of the week with them. Other people say that it is not lucky to let away the poor from your door without giving them some charity. Wednesday is supposed to be the luckiest day of the week.
