  1. The robin is a small bird with a red breast. Some say she got the red on her breast when Our Lord was dying on the Cross. She tried to take the thorns out of his head and so she has the red breast ever since She builds her nest in a hole in the ditch by the roadside. Often bad boys rob birds' nests and afterwards they would think of how great a sin it is. In winter when it is snowing it is very hard for them to get food as the ground is wet and covered with thick snow. But when the days get fine again they sing joyfully and are very happy, flying from place to place in the warm sunshine. There are many different kinds of birds the robin, thrush, wren, blackbird, swallow, tomtit, magpie, hawk, wagtail, cuckoo, goldfinch, sparrow, owl, and jackdaw. The cuckoo comes in April
The bird I like best is the goldfinch
