  1. About one hundred years ago the people used wear no boots. When they were going to Mass or on a journey they waited until they were a field away and then they put on their boots. Many people used skin goats and tanm it with herbs that grew on the banks of the rivers. They called them " clogs ". They put timber soles on them. The boys and girls did not wear boots until they were twenty years old. Some of them don't wear any boots or shoes now.
