- Nearly three hundred years ago English soliders came to Kilnaboy, to plunder the Church. An old woman lived in a little house near by and when she heard that they came to plunder the Church, she went into the Church secretly and took the gold bell which it possessed because she was afraid they would take it. She took the bell and buried it in the soft ground in Riase Mor and it is said that she died and told her secret to nobody.

- A few years ago, there was a gold Collar found midst the rocks of Carron in County Clare. One morning a man in the vicinity was walking along from rock to rock when he noticed some shining object at a distance. When he came close to it he picked it up, and brought it home not knowing how valuable it was. One night a neighbouring man came in and he showed him the collar, and the man told him it was a gold collar. After a few days he sent it to the Museum in Dublin and received a good deal of money for it. That precious collar must have been there for hundreds of years.
