  2. The Houses in Olden Days

    The houses of the old people were made of "dób." When a man would be making a house. he would get a few carts of dób and a few sheaves of straw. (into) Then he would cut the straw into small pieces and mix them with the dób. He keeps on doing that until he has it finished. He does not leave any place for windows. He bores two or three holes in the side of the house. The holes would be about three feet in circumference. Some of the windows used to be square.
    There used to be a "cailleach" in every house at tha time
