  1. The farmers start ploughing and fitting out for the sowing in January and February.
    In March and April the begin to sow the potatoes and the corn.
    In May and June the turf and hay are cut.
    In July and August the hay is saved and drawn in.
    In September and October the corn is cut and saved and drawn in and the turf is brought home and put into the shed.
    In November and December the farmers begin to pull the beet and draw it away to the factory.
    Then they begin to fit out for next year.

  2. Before the people begin to cut the turf they have to try a certain size of a bank first. Then they ship the bank. When they have that done they get seven or eight men and then begin to cut the turf.
