    place at Shrove in the time of our grand-parents the church abolished these matches for the simple reason that these run-away matches did not always end in matrimony.
    Matches were made round here and the bride and bridegroom elect had very little "Say" in the arrangement of their marriage. In some cases they get money and in others they simple have to work and make out for themselves. They used to dance and sing till the early hours of the morning.
    There used to be all kinds of music in the country houses.
