    Festival customs.
    St. Stephens Day is a great day for boys. They catch the wren on St Stephens evening put it into a little box with a hole on the top to give the little bird enough air to keep him alive.
    They go from house to house reciting a verse connected with the bird up with the kettle and down with the pan will you give me a penny to burry the wren.
    St Patricks day is a very reverend day in this part of the country. There are some very nice badges and shamrocks worn. In older times the people used to ware a cross on sleeves done with all coloured ribons.
    On Ash Wednesday there are some ashes blessed and the priest puts a cross on every bodies fore-
