The woman went outside. and the priest took the cat out of the box and laid it up at the fire where it was before Then he called in the woman and told her that he was after settling the devil. The woman was very thankful to him, and gave him money and meal and almost everything in the house. to the priest managed her alright.

    There is a very old graveyard in Ballyhogue.

    There is a very old graveyard in Ballyhogue. There are tombstones in it dating back to 1736. Here are some of the dates that are in it.
    Bridget Delaney aged 60 years 1790
    Martain Kehor died Feb the 10th 1763
    aged 58 years
    Patrick Mahon died 10th May 1776
    Henry Furlong died Mar. 10th 1773
    Dennis Doyle died Dec 23rd 1736
