When people are shelling peas if they happen on a pea with nine in it they hang it over the kitchen door. If a boy does this whatever girl will come into the house directly after he has hung up the pea, will marry him. (no title)

When a hen lays a small egg like a marble taw, it is stuck n the thatch, this is counted very lucky altogether. Every small egg of that kind laid by a hen is placed in the thatch and never taken out. It is counted very unlucky to do so. In some houses rows of these eggs will be seen stuck in the thatch, and when the thatcher comes along, he is strongly(continues on next page)
