   townland is Upper Tulla. There are ten families in this townland and forty people in the ten families. the family name most common in this district is O'Mara.    The district I live in is Knockbeha. It is situated in the Parish of Killanena and in the Barony of Tulla. the townsland is small. There are about fifteen families in this townsland. There are about 79 people in this townsland. The name most common is McArthur. There are five thatched houses and ten slated houses also. This townsland derived its name from the birches because all birches were growing in it long ago. There is one man and woman over seventy years. He knows some Irish, and English. His name is Mr. Hallinan, Knockbeha, Caher
