townland is Upper Tulla. There are ten families in this townland and forty people in the ten families. the family name most common in this district is O'Mara. Some of the houses are thatched but the most of them are slated. There are only two people over seventy years in this district. They don't know but very little Irish. Their names are Mrs. John O'Mara and Miss Margaret Cunningham. Their addresses are Flagmount, Feakle, Co. Clare. They are not much good for telling stories in Irish but they are great for telling stories in English. The townland was more thickly populated some years ago than it is at present. There are some old ruins in this townland. There did a great many people go to America and the old ruins still remain. This townland is often mentioned in song and poem.

  2. The district I live in is Knockbeha. It is situated in the Parish of Killanena and in the Barony of Tulla. the townsland is small. There are about fifteen families in this townsland. There are about 79 people in this townsland. The name most common is McArthur. There are five thatched houses and ten slated houses also. This townsland derived its name from the birches because all birches were growing in it long ago. There is one man and woman over seventy years. He knows some Irish, and English. His name is Mr. Hallinan, Knockbeha, Caher
