  1. When our Great Grand fathers saw geese flying high up in the air, or clouds running fast, they made sure to put a prop to there rick of hay or straw. When cows lie down and the day becomes dull there will be rain.
When swallows fly high in the air you will have hot weather. When the clouds are all as white as a sheet there will be snow . When you smell sulpur in the air you will have thunder and lightning.
They have old Rhymes also "When the cuckoo sings on a bare thorn, sell your cows and buy corn". If it rains on the fifteenth of July it will rain for forty days.
