    The potatoes grown in this locality are as follows: Epicures, Arran banners, Arran victors, Arran chiefs, Triumphs, Lumpers, Kerry-blues, White-elephant and Kerr pink.
    Those that thrive best are the Kerr-pinks and the Arran chiefs.
    Starch was made from potatoes in olden days. To do this - the potatoes were grated, and then the juice was strained, and allowed to settle, when a thick sediment settled on the bottom of the vessel. The water was then drained off, and the starch bleached.
