    I've seen strange plans in foreign lands,
    Palatial buildings that gleamed like pearls,
    But none so grand in my native land,
    As the new school _ house in Lisnagirl.
    II
    It's style is charming and most alarming.
    To spectators from far and neat,
    It was erected and the sight selected
    By Father Bernard of Killinkere.
    III
    He chose the site, he fought the fight,
    For our rights they did dispute,
    By their learned counsel they sought to bound him,
    But their wily tactics he did impute.
    IV
    His fame and glory will record in story.
    Till our heads are hoary we'll him revere,
    Brave Father Bernard of fame so learned,
    That rose the Model in Killinkere.
    V
    This zealous pastor; to serve his master
    His flock he watches with an anxious eye,
    He's good and truthful - he loves the youthful,
    To educate is still his cry.
