    In former days when the people had no doctors, they had their own remedies for their ailments.
    When the people got bruises or hurts they would put a leech to the bruise and it is said that the leeches would suck out the badness.
    A cure for a headache was to take the lid off the teapot of tea and to put their head over the steam.
    A cure they had for a pain in the ear was to dip a piece of wadding in casteroil and to put it into the ear.
    A cure they had for chest-trouble was to put a blue paper and three drops of a blessed candle to it.
    A cure they had for a hiccough was to drink three sups of water at the left side of a cup.
    When they had corns they used to go and wash their feet in bog water.
    They used to rub penny leaves to burnt holes to cure them.
    A cure they had for kidney disease was to get a weed like a fern got in
