    It was considered lucky for the bride to wear
    Something old
    Something new
    Something borrowed
    and Something blue.
    When a man wanted to marry a girl he would steal her away from her father's house on horseback and lock her in a neighbour's house or barn. He then would go back to the parent's of the girl and demand her fortune.
