    Long ago there was a big number of people living in Esker and Lord Oranmore evicted them. He promised them big holdings but he never fulfilled his promise. Some of them were sent into the marshy lands and others were left by the road-sides. Their houses were knocked down to prevent them from going back into them again.

    A man named Patrick Daly lived between Irishtown and Ballindine. He evicted all the people of Bawneighter but before he came into the village all the people took down their doors. There were three hundred police in the village they were
