  1. An old man named Kelly lived in Ballindine just at the top of the fair-green long ago. He used to make potheen so he was known as Cheallaighphoit.
After he died the place was supposed to be haunted by his dog and people were afraid to pass that place late at night.
One day some people were minding flock of sheep on the fair-green. the dog was worrying and scattering the sheep. One of the men cursed him and the dog immediately disappeared in a ball of fire and was never seen again.
