    When the people used make a churning long ago they used always put a coal under the churn and shake a grain of salt over it as they say that (that) would keep the butter. If any stranger came into the house he should strike a blow on it so that he would not bring the butter . When the churning would be made the head of the house would always get a mug of butter first.
