  1. Many serious happenings happened about 50 years ago.A few years ago there were a great many burnings and accidents also.Three boys were passing by he boat-house which is situate by Lough Graney.They were paddling on the water and they took a boat out on the lake and they lost the oars. Corea and Moloney were laughing at Bourke ,while he was praying with a beads.The boat overturned and Bourke was saved.This happened in the year 1892.Father Dore blessed a sheaf and he put it out on the lake.The sheaf stood over the bodies and they got them.There were a great many serious burnings during the time of the Black and Tans.In this place two burnings took place Mr P Mc Arthur's house was burned by the black and Tans in the year 1921.Houlihan's house was burned also ,as pat was one of the enemies.He shot a Captain and his wife.
    After Mass one day a crowd were going home.A dispute rose between two families and a Vaughan lad was slain.Briens and Conways rose a quarrel over a bog .In this a Conway fellow struck a Brien man with a sleán and slew him.The O'Briens
