    The way I made a top. I got a spool and stuck a stick through the spool with one end pointed well. When I put the top on the table and gave it a twist in my hand the top came spinning round.
    The way I make a sling. I got a piece of fine leather and bored two holes in it and doubled the leather. Then I got two pieces of cords and tied the cords in the holes and swung it round me for a while. I let out the cords and away the stone went.
    My father made snares for catching birds. He got a piece of a stick to hold up a riddle and a piece of a cord tied to the bottom of the stick. He put corn under the riddle and when he pulled the cord the stick fell and he caught the birds.
