  1. The hiccough is a very common disease among the people. It can be cured by giving the patient a sudden fright.
    If anyone wanted to get cured of the mumps, the patient would have to get some other man to put an asse's haltar on his head and lead him round the pigsty three times. Ever time they would pass the door the patient would say "muck muck cure the mums."
    If your blood was out of order in the spring time you could boile half a pound of nettle roots with one pint of water, When all the juices would be taken out the water would be let cool and taken as nettle tea.
