  1. One dark night a man who lived near [?] was going homem from his [?] and as he was going through a log he heard noise coming along the path as if a crowd was marching in silence except for he sound of their feet.
    He stood beside a sally tree to let them pass and he saw it was a funeral.
    As the "bearer" came near the people who were very small and queer in appearance stopped and forced the man to take the place if one of them under the coffin.
    He was very heavy and when the funeral reached [?] graveyard the man fell down exhausted.
    His was found the next day asleep at the old caru and brought home.
    He never went out late again.
