  1. One moonlight night about a hundred years ago, an old man was passing a fort in [Crossbane?] not far from where I live.
He heard someone calling his name - "Peadar"! "Peadar and the the voice said, "Did you see the fox?
The man looked across the ditch and he saw a woman riding a fine grey horse and a big black dog about 4 ft high ran along side the horse which galloped like the wind.
The man ran down the road until he came to a gate near Pat Tommy's lane and he looked into a field and what should he see but the white horse running after a blue fox.
Then the man went out in the 'fort field' to watch the hunt and a little woman about 4 ft high ran up to him and asked him did he see a grey horse. "Yes" said the man, "there he is!
Instantly the woman disappeared into the ground
The man ran home and went to bed but he never got up again for his leg was withered.
