  1. When I was a young lad in Killenkare I went to a little thatched cottage near Clanphilib. It was on the side of the road and the master was a very old man. He lived near the school and every day his daughter used to bring a big pot of porridge and the master sat on a stool and kept the pot between his legs and ate spoonfuls of it while he was listening to us reading or while he was asking us spells from a spelling book.
I never saw an Inspector coming in so I think the National Board had nothing to do with the school.
