- The game I play is the "Slly old man that came from Athlone".
A chair is placed on the middle of the floor, and then they draw lots to see who will take the chair. The occupant of the chair sings a little song and he calls on anyone he likes in the crowd. Whoever he calls upon has to rise from his seat and walk to the chair.
He then sings this little verse,
"I am a silly old man that came fromm Athlone,
That came from Athlone,
That came from Athlone."
Come my dear master, choose a good body or else choose none.
Whosoever he has chosen must sing that verse together with this saying - A red hot lump of rough light red leather red.- Collector
