    Fadó ní raibh aon scoil ann ac na muinteoirí ag dul ó thig go tig agus seachtmain annso agus seachtmhain annsúd. Biodh na buacaillí ag teacht go dtí an tig in a biodh an fear ag fanuint. Bhiodh sé ag múna na sgolairí gac oidhce. Annsan ragad sé go dtí sráid eile ar fead seactmhain agus mar sin timceall na h-áite. Ní raibh lé fagáil aige acht pingin nó dhá pingin ó gach páiste agus uaireannta a geóbadh sé sgilling no dhá sgilling ón bfear a beadh sé ag fanúint leis.
