Children wear a small harp.Shrove TuesdayPeople get married on that day before Lent starts. Pancakes are always made and eaten with the supper, it is locally called "Pancake Night"Ash WednesdayAshes are blessed in the church that day and the "sign of the Cross" is made on everybodies forehead with the Blessed Ashes.Holy ThursdayPeople visit the church and spend time in Adoration before the "Alter of Repose".Good FridaySilence is kept from twelve oclock until three in honour of the Passion.(continues on next page)
