  1. Long ago the people used to make wheaten bread. First they used to get a big pot and fill it with wheat and then hang it over the fire to harden it. In the night they used to grind it and then make cakes of it. When they would grind a little of it, they would put a fist of it into a drop of milk and use it. This would be like gruel. They used to call it min 's bainne.
