- Morty Oge
Morty Oge was the last chief of Beara. He was born in the eighteenth century in the family residence a little to the west of the village of Eyeries. He was captain of the Wild Geese. Morty was an only child, and it seems when he was young he was taken to the continent to be educated. He went into military training in Spain.
When Morty came home from Spain he began smuggling out wool and smuggling in wine. Puxley found out about it and they got jealous and were fighting. But when Puxley was coming from church on Easter morning he was shot by Morty Oge.When Morty shot Puxley he fled to France. After a while he came home to see his son who lived in Eyeries Beg.
