  1. A story is told about a very bad living woman who lived in this parish. One night she got very ill and a neighbour went for the priest.
The priest was coming on horseback at the hour of midnight. He heard most beautiful singing and on looking around him he saw a dog sitting on the ditch. He stood listening to the song until it was finished. He came to the woman's house but she was dead. The dog was the devil and he sat singing his song to delay the priest in order to have the woman for his everlasting fire.
The name of the song was An Cailin 'gus cruaioie na mho. The priest afterwards condemned the song and it was never sang after that.
