  1. In the townland of Letterilly the remains of an old dun are to be seen. The people of the locality say that this dun was made in the time of the "Penal Laws" for a protection for the people. There is a great bank of clay piled up and outside of this mound there is a deep ditch. When the people were living here the ditch was full of water and a draw bridge across it.
