Ar an leathanach seo
- About a hundred years ago in the year 1838 there was a terrible storm. It caused a lot of damage all over Ireland.
Ships were wrecked at sea and driver inland. In several places the sea went into the land. Trees were torn up off the ground, and in some places were thrown across the public road. Several houses and cabins were left roofless.
It took several weeks hard work before the damage could be repaired. Every field near the sea shore was covered with several rocks and stones. The gardens' were also completely destroyed. They were no use for a couple of years. This caused a great scarcity of food. A large boat ran ashore at the Battery. The people began to take off the valuables such as (valuables) lead, metal, and iron. The captain told them to go away but it was no use.
In the multitude there was an old man. When the captain saw him he asked him to get some thing to dive the people away. He went home and got his gun. When the people saw him coming they thought that he was going to shoot them.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
