Once upon a time there was a widow living in the side of the road and she had one cow who supplied her with milk.
One night the fairies brought the cow from her and the poor woman had to buy milk from her neighbours. One night her son was coming from his cuard and he saw the cow running into the fort where the fairies lived. He watched near the fort the next night and when the cow came out he followed her, but the cow just got into the fort before him.
He watched there again the next night and the same thing happened. He watched there again the next night and he caught the cow's tail as she was going into the fort, and she pulled him in after her. When the fairies saw him they asked him what did he want, and he said he wanted the cow, and the fairies gave him the cow. When he was going away one of the fairies called him back and told him the cow would be no use to him without a spancel.
