The manger is fairly high and the horses are fed in this. Fodder usually consists of straw or hay. When the shoes come off the horses, they are brought to the blacksmiths shop and put on by the blacksmith.
The calls for the animals are: When calling pigs, "hurrie, hurrie", ducks "Wheatie, Wheatie" calves "Suckie, Suckie" goats "kiddie, kiddie" sheep "Maggie,Maggie" chickens "birdie,birdie" cats "Pursh,pursh" and for dogs a whistle is given.
A mark is sometimes put on the eggs especially if a person has bought them from the poultry station. Some people put a piece of iron under the nest in which the hen is hatching for lack.
They usually save all the horses shoes they can get for this purpose also they think it keeps the chickens from being killed if a sudden noise comes such as a real of thunder.
