- This is a game that used to be played at wakes long ago. Any number of people could take part in it. One out of the number would get down on his hands and feet on the floor and hold down his head. The rest would get round him in a ring and begin pounding him on the back and saying, "Hurly, burly, trump the case the cow bees down the market place. Simon Alloy hunt the buck, how many horns stand up" Meanwhile those taking part would put up as many fingers as they liked and their fingers would count as horns. The person on the floor must guess how many horns up. If he said five were up and there were eight , the crowd would answer "Five you said and eight there was."
The person on the ground would have to stay down until he would guess correctly .
