“The following interesting story was told by my father to illustrate the great power of the priests.”
(ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)his house. All the time the priest begged of the man not to insist on what he wanted but in vain. Then the priest told him not to blame himself for anything that he would see. The brievary came and the priest started praying. There was no other person in the room. At first a peculiar smell came into the room and again the priest begged the men to let him go but it was of no use.
Again the priest prayed and lo! in the middle of the room stood the old nobleman, chains of fire around him, in fact his whole person was on fire. Then the young man shouted to the priest to [send?] it away. The priest continued to read and the terrible apparition disappeared.- Bailitheoir
