- Long ago there was a man living in a house and he kept a cow. One day the cow died and the man buried her in a field near the house. That night when the man was in bed he heard the cow roaring outside in the yard. He said to his wife that the cow was outside but the wife said that she was not there. The man went out and he saw the cow outside. The cow ran away from him into a lios. Next morning when the man went out he saw the cow outside before him and she was alive. It is a custom when an animal dies from a disease to throw the dead animal over the [?] fence into a neighbour's field. This is supposed to transfer the disease to the neighbour's animals.
