  1. Long ago people were healthier than they are nowadays and as there were no doctors they had cures for the diseases they suffered. The common diseases they suffered from were, colds, sore throats, measeles, evil, broncatis and mumps, and sore eyes, and headaches.
    The best cure for a sore-throat was to wet a cloth and tie it round your neck. The cure for broncatis was the juice of boiled nettles. People who suffered from red, watering eyes
