- There is a crock of gold in Seery's garden in Balinlig in the parish of Ballymore. It is said that Michael Collins dreamt three nights, one after another, that it was in the room and that Peter Butler would be along with him taking it up. He became jealous and began to bore for the gold himself. When he was down about ten feet the house became so filled with smoke that he was obliged to leave it. It is said that the Danes buried the crock there and that lights have often been seen around the spot. Sometimes a fog of fire rises there also.
