  1. Travelling people still call to my house. They have been doing so for many years. They are very poor.
    They used sell small articles such as,-, pins, needles and laces. A number of people used buy from them. In the town they used obtain their supplies.
    These travellers were very welcome and they used to remain a day at a time. They used sleep on a settle in the farmers' houses. The people gave them food, money and clothes. They travel on foot in bands.
    The best known of them were the O'Driscoll's and the O'Leary's. They come once a month. They tell stories and bring news from distant places. Some of the neighbours used collect to hear them. They come before the Horse Fairs in Mallow.
