  2. About eighty years ago a man named Bill Sheehan, who lived in Mallow could carry a cart of oats up the street at his ease. Farmers employed him when their horses failed to pull the load. He would simply put the ridge-band on his shoulder and pull the cart after him. Another of his feats of strength was to knock a bull with a blow of his fist and he used to say when the bull was down "get up you rascal I never struck a man down".
