    Houses are more numerous now-a-days then what they were long ago. People emigrated from this place to America. The land is fairly good and there are not many bogs. The River Martin runs through this district.

  2. I live in Longstone, Whitechurch, Barony of the Barretts. Five houses are in the townland and twenty people. Murphy is the most common name there. All the houses in it are slated.
    It got its name from a big stone which is ten feet long and four feet high. One person live there who is over seventy. Her name is Mrs. Hobbs, Longstone, Whitechurch. She does not know Irish.
