    Its years since first I left you,
    This native land of mine,
    O God how oft in foreign lands
    For you my heart do pine
    To chat once more with the fairy lore
    With my gentle "cailin deas"
    And the lads I knew are now but few
    In Dear Old "Sally's Cross".

    Oh God how altered now dear friend,
    This native land of mine,
    Those good old neighbours I used to know,
    Are past and gone with time
    At night in my dreams I see them.
