  1. There are few fairy forts in the district of Kanturk. The nearest one is situated in Curragh in Mr Kelleher's field. It is circular in shape and is surrounded by trees, and there is an entrance into it.
    These forts were built for fortifications. This fort is very deep and animals take refuge in them.
    It is considered very unlucky to interfere with them and owing to this farmers do not touch them.
    It is related by the old people that ill luck comes to those who do interfere.
    In olden times he forts were supposed to be occupied by the fairies and woe to those who interfere with the Good
