  1. In the surrounding districts of Kanturk there are many Holy Wells which had been blessed long ago by the Saints who lived near and used them.
The one I know most about it Dromtarriffe. This well was blessed and made famous by Saint Latheran, and the special day for visiting this well is on the sixth of May. On this day there are cars to be seen from early morning till late at night taking people to and from the holy well. They go around the well three times and say the rosary and other prayers. There is a tree over the well covered with bits of cloths.
